Canvass Director, $33,000 to $46,000.

Do you have at least six months direct canvassing experience for any organization such as Fund For The Public Interest, Grassroots Campaigns, or the Human Rights Campaign?

If so, you might be hired as a canvass director in your city to gather petition signatures and donations for one of the following human rights campaigns:

1) Equal Marriage Rights For All Americans. 2) End Marijuana Prohibition. 3) End Private Prostitution Prohibition.

You must already have sufficient canvassing and time-management experience to efficiently obtain lots of petition signatures and average $20 to $30 an hour in donations. We pay you 80% of the donations you collect! That's $16 to $24 per hour.

You then can hire and train other canvassers and pay them 50% to 60% of donations they collect. Just three canvassers earning $10 to $15 an hour each increases your total earning to $30 to $38 per hour.

You must be a smart, tenacious self-starter with leadership ability and a strong belief in human rights. And you must be able to recruit, train, motivate, manage and retain staff. Basic computer literacy in word-processing, database and email programs is also necessary.
